Today, though the PAWer of people working together a new group was created, the Roswell 9. Now cats are said to have 9 lives but a few of these dog stories will also show that they too are LUCKY.
Take Cage 33, a beautiful brown canine named Faith she has been living at Animal Control since early January. Her and her canine siblings River and Oscar were pulled from their household on a welfare check. When Faith, an American Staffordshire Terrier (oftentimes referred to a pit bull) was pulled from that home she weighed 16.8 lbs. Normally, these dogs weigh around 45 lbs.
The AC report tells their life of horror living amoung their own waste, which the owner got tired of cleaning up - so he just cut back on feeding them.
He has had his day in court, and the judge found in favor of the pets and along with fines and a 3 year pet ban it is one step closer to justice for abused pets.
Today, the system didn't fail Faith she got her freedom and for the first time in 8 weeks her feet walked on gravel.
Thank you to those that pledged funds for her freedom, to those that volunteered to be the host home for them, those that pulled and transported them to safety. While each has a name, the key of the TEAM is working together for the FREEDOM PHOTO -- today FAITH and RIVER knows that FREEDOM is theirs.
